Solland Solar’s R&D department is constantly looking for new technologies, techniques and equipment all over the world, for implementation in our own production process. The R&D department aims to spot any new trends that may be important for our company or the solar energy market as a whole at the earliest possible stage.

The department devotes a great deal of attention to adapting our production process to deal with the rapid reduction in wafer thickness. Optimisation of the efficiency of solar cells is a permanent focus. The "back-contact cell" is very promising in this regard.
Our R&D activities in this field are not restricted to production alone, but also include the application of cells in solar modules. We have entered into close cooperation with various recognised research institutes to secure the most advanced technological know-how.
We have our own R&D centre at “Avantis”. Our starting point is the early recognition of trends that are decisive for the market as a whole and for Solland Solar in particular.
